Tom Royer, a scientist in the United Earth Ground Forces and a specialist on alien biology, has been stationed on a planet on the edge humanity's colonization efforts. The planet is lush and covered in jungles, aliens, and conspiracies. If Royer can survive through it, he will have to face the most ground-shattering question: What does it mean to be human?
